Anyone who knows me, knows that I love hard rocking goth bands with female leads. This band has been around for awhile but I have only recently been turned onto their music. I fracking love their sound. I really like their sound back when Tarja Turunen *drools* was the lead singer (her voice is amazing) but Anette sounds pretty damn good.

A Racey Time

Last night EB and I went out for the first time in a while do to our jobs being a little bit crazy as of late. We had a blast and I was able to do something that I have never done. We went to the dog track and bet on the dogs. I have been to horse track before but I have never been to see the dogs race.

It was an absofuckinglutely wonderful time.

If you have done this before then you will know what I am talking about. The whole atmosphere of betting and watching the dogs chase the rabbit around the track just made for a really fun time.

WOW I haven't done one of these for a long time. So anyways the new Stone Sour CD Come What(Ever) May came out recently and I cannot stop listening to it. It is awesome. For those of you who like this style of music will really enjoy the CD. I saw them play live on The Family Values tour with Korn and they were great.
I really enjoy listening to 30/30-150, sillyWorld, Reborn, Made of Scars, Through Glass, Your God, and really just about all the songs on the CD really.

A relaxing weekend

This weekend is going to be a relaxation weekend for me. Yeah I have to mow the lawn but when I want I can knock it out in an hour. So since EB and I are off together on a weekend for the first time in months, we are going to relax then go out and have some fun.

Yeah I have been absent alot lately and for that I apologize.
Anyways Tom Petty was absolutely Fing awesome. Stevie Nicks actually showed up and they did a couple of songs together. I had an absolute blast at that concert. As for the Family Values tour I really did have a fun time but I was just getting a wierd vibe. I don't know I was waiting for all hell to break lose but like I said I had a good time. Loved Stonesour, they kicked ass!

Well the work week was oddly strange with everyone finding out about my new job. Anyways who cares. We got two free concerts to go see and I can not wait.

Today is Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I heard he is great in concert so this is going to be a very good day.

Sunday is the Family Values Tour with Korn, Deftones, Stonesour, Dir En Grey, 10 Years, Bury Your Dead, Bullets & Octane, Last Starfighter, and Fair to Midland. I can't wait for this one either. We love going to festival style shows. The only bummer about this one is that Flyleaf dropped off of the show for some reason but we have seen them live. It would have been cool to see them on the big stage though.

Anyways folk I have alot of errands to run to be able to go play tonight *grins*

Damn I have been a busy little beaver the past week or so. Between work, concerts, and the new vehicle I have hardly spent anytime online. I have been working 6 days a week , 10 hours a day. yeah it frikkin blows monkey ass but that is life *shrugs*

Anyways, eventhough I had to work I still had a blast at the concerts my buddy got us tickets to.

Friday: Hootie and the Blowfish --- They sounded pretty and I had a blast.

Saturday: Kelly Clarkson --- I do not know many of her songs and I am not the biggest fan of her style but I had fun at the concert. PLUS I want her luscious ass!! *drools*

Sunday: Def Leppard/Journey --- Who couldn't enjoy this show if you grew up in the 80's.

I just had a frikkin blast this past weekend! I hope you guys are all doing great. Hopefully work will settle down enough and I can get back to blogging :))

OK here is a little rant on my part. I really DO NOT like my job (who really does right??). I am doing tasks that are NOT what I am trained to do and it is very irritating. You see I am an electrical technician and 80% of my job now is all mechanical. I am constantly getting oily and greasy whenever I start up one of our products. Believe me I DO NOT mind getting dirty but what I am doing is just going to far. To boot I am working inside a building whose average temp is 90-95 deg F. So HooRAY for fucking me! The only thing keeping me from going insane is that I like most of the people I work.
So now I have been told about a job within my company, even at our same location, that will bring me back into my chosen field. It will even be a supervisors position with a little more money and a hell of alot more responsibility. I am so ready for this and I really need to get out of the job I am in now. I have pretty much been offered this job but this doesn't mean shit. I have seen people screwed over after being offered a job before but since they were working with the company for over 25 years they were pretty much screwed into staying.
So I am going for it tomorrow. Wish me luck and if I do not get this job. Well this is what I am going to tell them......Hit the YouTube play button below......

Everytime I go to the music store I look for certain bands that I know will not be there. But I still try and hope they will be. Anyways I do not trust the internet completely when purchasing stuff unless it is a well known site (i.e. travelocity or amazon). So I went and purchased 3 CD's last night. One from a band called Dine Alone (they are a local Houston band that I saw one night at a small local venue). You can hear them at their myspace page here and at their website here . I really like the songs "Coming to Senses" and "Gone Already". The song I really really liked that they played live was "Circles" but I can't find it anywhere *shrugs* oh well.

As for the other band, it is a band out of Northern Utah called Signal. I really like their sound alot. I purchased the EP The Dragon and the pre-order of Awakening. I love the songs "Gone", "Life", and "The Dragon" off of their EP The Dragon and I am really liking their song "Haunting Me", "Coming Apart", and "Miles Away" off of Awakenings. You can hear some of their music at their myspace page here but you can use their media player on their website to listen to both albums. Oh hell fucking yeah! Skynyrd fucking rocks live. If you have never seen Lynyrd Skynyrd live then you have to because they know how to put on a good show! I have been listening to Skynyrd since I shot out of the womb. I had a cassette tape given to me when I was 8. Practically my whole family listens to these guys and owns multiple albums.

I can still listen to any of their songs and still love the song as if it was the first time I heard it. So everybody lets sing along. This is a video that was taken on July 4, 1977. It gave me some chills know that the plane crash that killed Ronnie VanZant, Steve Gaines, and his sister Cassie (who was one of the backing vocals) was October 17, 1977.

With the exception of Shooter Jennings (who was really good) the rest of the acts that I saw this weekend sucked ass (3 Doors Down and Fiona). But I am not going to dwell on them instead lets enjoy Skynyrd.

I am not a big reality show fan. Actually I really do not like them much at all. Personally, I think they are the decline of television. ANYWAYS when EB told about Rockstar: Supernova and said that I needed to watch the girl from Houston. I shrugged it off with a "oh yeah cool" response. Well I finally got around to it because I was like oh well just another reality show deal big whoop!

BOY was I wrong!! This girl brought down the house in my opinion. Yes that is right I liked something on a reality show. Like I have said before, it is all about the music for me. So there we were entering the backstage gates when we caught a glimpse of her. EB and I both look at each other and smirk. I think nah it couldn't be her. EB takes off into the club to meet up with some friends while I hang outside waiting and enjoying the weather. I love it right before a rainstorm hits when it is breezy and cool.

Anyways I am leaning against a fence near one of the tour buses waiting for EB to return with our friend when she walks out of the bus right in front of me. "You should close your mouth before one of these Texas size mosquitos fly in there an nest" she chuckles. I realize that I am standing mouth open and just blatantly staring at her. I stammer, "Sorry you just surprised me" She laughs, "You're staring again. Is that drool!" I laugh in response.

A light rain begins to fall and I am still sitting there open mouthed and in awe of who I am talking to. I can't help it. I have never been this close to someone like her and she is extremely beautiful in that cute kinda way. So there I am daydreaming when she says, "It is raining and I have got to go." I just smile and say, "OK can I get an autograph" She just laughs and smiles this evil little grin then says, "I can do one better than that".

She leans in close, kissing me on the cheek then trails kisses down my neck. She goes all the way down my body and begins kissing my now hardening cock through my shorts. I am going completely crazy right now because I cannot believe this is happening. We are both getting wet from the rain, I look down and see her reaching up to unzip my short when I hear EB call out, "HEY GOOBER! Are you gonna get out of the rain!?!".

I look down to see HER again. She just looks up at with a grin and continues to unzip my shorts. I look over at EB and she says, "Come on your gonna get soaked" I looked back down and she was gone. I blink and looked again at my feet. I look over at EB and then again at my feet and realize something. Shit I was just daydreaming again!!! LOL

So now me and EB go to watch the Robert Randolph and The Black Crowes. We didn't get there in time to se the Drive-By Truckers but our friends said they were pretty good.

Robert Randolph was pretty good, they had a good sound to them that just made you wanna dance in your seats!

As for the Black Crowes, they were also pretty good. I will admit that I didn't know some of their music but I honestly enjoyed just about everything that they played. I really enjoyed "Seeing Things" and "Jealous". All in all I really liked the show and I would go see them again!!

I was so surprised Wednesday night. I wasn't surprised that I was going to the concert so much but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it! BUT before I talk about it I must say this: DAMN YOU EB , DAMN YOU TO HELL !!! *winks at EB* I say this because she posted some YouTube videos of one of my secret musical addictions. I must have listened to those videos about a dozen times each. Yes it is Eva Cassidy!! Click here and give them a listen!! Let me tell you there is just something about her voice and her music that just does something to me on the inside. Well 2 of those videos are my top favorite songs by Eva, my other favorite being Songbird.

OK enough about the emotional Slider!!! I went to the INXS/Scott Stapp concert the other day. I am not a big fan of their music but I have to say this I really enjoyed myself, hell I was in the 7th row! Scott Stapp did some old Creed music and a little of his new stuff and he really sounded pretty good! I did not care for all the preaching he did after his 2nd song but all in all I enjoyed his performance!!

As for INXS, I was never really a big fan and I never watched that TV show where they were looking for their new lead singer! Yeah I know the guy's name is JD. How could I forget now, I had 4 little girls screaming "I LOVE YOU JD" sitting right behind me through the whole show.

ANYWAYS, I really loved their show. They came out playing "Suicide Blonde" and ended the show with "Don't Change". Both songs sounded fucking awesome and every song in between them sounded just as good!! I would definitely recommend that if any of you get the chance to see INXS in concert go ahead and do it! You will not be disappointed! You can argue all you want but JD sounds just as good as Michael on the older INXS songs. So here is a video of my favorite song from the concert performed by the original line-up!!

What can I say about this past weekend! I had a really good time but if I had to choose a show that I liked the most it would have to be Huey Lewis and the News! Let me tell you this he put on a pretty good show and sounded pretty good!
I didn't think Rob Thomas was all that great. Do not get me wrong he sounded good but there just seemed to be something missing!
As for Jewel *drool*. She sounded great but I will be honest I was running late and only got to see 3 of her songs. But she sounded good and looked really HOT!

Forget Chicago! I used to like alot of their stuff back in the 80's but without Peter Cetera they just do not sound the same! They also performed too much jazzy stuff that I really did not care for! Well it sounded jazzy to me anyways! I will give them this "Saturday in the Park" sounded good and the instrumental part of "25 or 6 to 4" sounded good as well!

All in all I really enjoyed myself this weekend! I loved hearing most of Huey's songs and they really brought back some memories!

Alright now this is for all of you who want a laugh or really like South Park! It is one of my favorite clips!

Well I am going to make this short and sweet since I have to head off to work in about 5 minutes! EB and I have a good friend who scores us tickets to concerts in the local area. It may be downtown or some venue outside of town! Either way it is pretty cool even though sometimes they are for shows I do not care to see! But then again who really cares it is free and we can go and enjoy ourselves!

Anyways the point is when I get home from work today!! *growls* Yeah I have to work today and I am not happy about it but it is overtime atleast. Oh like I was saying when I get home today we got tickets from our friend to go see the Rob Thomas/Jewel show. Should be interesting!

Tomorrow he got us tickets for the Chicago/Huey Lewis and the News! Now that should really be interesting.

Well that is my weekend activities in a nutshell except for mowing the F-ing lawn and you don't want to hear about that!

Kiss My Ass Mother Nature !

She tried to kill my weekend but no go! It was raining most of Friday night and it kept on going as the concert started on Saturday . But I just pulled my pants down and showed her my ass!! When the first band HURT opened the festival on the side stage in the pouring rain there I was front and center rocking out!

Let me tell you HURT only played for 25 minutes (which is standard for the open acts of the festival) but they put on one hell of a performance!! It was great. Next I walked over to the main stage where Buckcherry was the opening act there. Thank the Lord the main stage is covered so I was briefly out of the rain. I really enjoyed their performance especially "Crazy Bitch". Next I walked back out into the pouring rain to watch Bril. They were good and by now I was so soaked that it didn't matter now if it rained the rest of the day. So piss off Mother Nature, rain all you want!

From there I went back over to the main stage to watch Blue October! They were amazing. This was their first show since the lead singer broke his leg. HE was not ready to come back, it took him forever to get on and off stage plus after his performance I heard they took him to the hospital in an ambulance because he was in such pain. Now let me tell you this THEY WERE THE BEST PERFORMANCE for me at that festival. Although they played the shortest set they sounded fucking awesome. I could only imagine how great they would sound if the lead singer was completely healthy!

I had to leave for part of the show so I ended up missing 3 bands (Huck Johns, Candlebox, & People in Planes) but I atleast I was able to dry off and make it back for Evans Blue. Since I showed Mother Nature my ass which she must have liked because it was no longer raining and it stayed that way for the rest of the evening. F-ing A !!!!!

Trapt and Hinder both kicked some ass and I really enjoyed listening to "Get Stoned" live. The crowd just went insane for that song!

10 Years was the final performance on the side stage and they were awesome! I really liked just about everything they play! Right before them was Shinedown. They sounded awesome in everything that they performed. The one thing that I did not like was that the lead talks way too damn much during their performances. I'd rather see a band come out and rock it . Maybe talk to the crowd a little bit but DAMN he talked way too much. But they sounded really good and I enjoyed their performance!

Hoobastank was pretty good although I really do not listen to them all that much. I give them big props though for letting 3 Days Grace perform a couple of songs during their set !! (I forgot to mention 3 Days Grace couldn't make it to the venue on time due to the weather).

As for Staind, they were just fucking great!!! They did a cover of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" that was just amazing. They performed "Devil" which is my favorite song off of their new album and EB's favorite "Everything Changes". They ended their performance with "Mudshovel"!!!!! This was my second time seeing Staind live and I will go see them over and over again without hesitation.

I do not get home until about 2 am and I was so pumped that I didn't fall asleep until about 4 am. Then I woke up about 8 am and couldn't go back to sleep! OH well and once again it was pouring rain! So now I had to make a big decision about wether or not I was going to go see the country act Rascal Flatts. Well lets put it this was I do not care for their music but it was raining and then there were going to be wet cowgirls there!!! So HELL YEAH I was went and I enjoyed the scenery very much! LOL I also didn't get how until about 1 am that night but you know what I didn't care even though I had to work the next day. It was well worth it and I would do it again *grins*

The Weekend

Sorry that I have not posted about the big concert weekend but after two days of solid concert going including a full day festival I am a little worn out! Plus I had to f-ing work today!!!

LOL I actually came home from work, ate, passed out, then woke up on the couch. So I will post pics and all the info about the concerts tomorrow evening :))

Yep I am not just a metalhead if you guys have noticed by now! If I enjoy the song I can care less what genre it is!

Anyways I have been thinking alot about music lately if you haven't noticed. This has probably been spawned by the kickass concert series we have going on this summer!! So I was thinking what would be my all time favorite lineup to see in a concert. Then that spawned into what HOT ass metal babes would I love to see in concert from my impressionable and very innocent teenage years *grins*.

Only one lady and one band come to mind! Lita Ford is the probably the all around greatest metal chick!!! She is beautiful and she can rip it up on the guitar!! Vixen is the band that I am talking about! They just had some really good music and to tell you the truth 4 hot f-ing woman rocking onstage is good enough for me *grins*

All you guys can admit to it or not but I am not afraid to. A Lita Ford/Vixen concert would have been a totally amazing concert and I would have not hesitated to go see them. SHIT I wouldn't hesitate to go see them now if by some miracle or grace of God that would ever happen!!

So here is a flashback into our past !!!!!!!!!

So there were two of my favorite songs. First was Vixen doing "Love is a Killer" and the second one was Lita Ford doing "Dressed to Kill". Both of them happen to be my favorites by both artists.

OH BTW I never did get a chance to see Lita Ford in concert but I did get to see Vixen *grins* Front row baby!! They were one of the opening acts for Ozzy on the No Rest for the Wicked tour!

Anyways the reason for my little outburst is that I ran across two amazing vocal performances on YouTube today (Yeah no suprise I was messing around there huh ???). Last night was the NIN concert and it was FUCKING awesome. If any of you ever get a chance to go see them live I promise you will not be disappointed!!

I didn't get their early enough to see TV on the Radio so I do not know how they sound live!

BUT let me tell you this Bauhaus frikkin kicks major ass live. I watched people who didn't know who the heck they were dancing and jamming to Bauhaus. They were just awesome.

As for NIN, well it was the best concert I have seen in years. The only regret I had from the show was that I wasn't tripping on acid cause their light show was fucking spectacular!!! Their entire set was just packed full of great music and when they played the song "Hurt"......well that just blew me away it was just that frikkin good!!!

For Part six we are gonna go back in time. I loved the hard "heavy metal" music but I also liked the "hard rock" music as well. I never understood the whole the make-up thing but I guess it was the sign of times *shrugs*
Anyways this may see kinda insensitive but it is my personal opinion. Def Leppard kicked ass prior to the Hysteria album(i.e. Pyromania, High n Dry, On Through the Night). I contribute this partly to them sticking with the drummer after his accident. To me that is when their music changed and started their decline. I didn't even purchase the albums post Hysteria. Now don't get me wrong the drummer has more talent then I ever would when it comes to drums and I give the band major credit for sticking with him !!!! Anyways that is my opinion and remember "Opinions are like assholes everyone has one" :P

It is like a little secret obsession but I loved Def Leppard's music from Pyro and High N Dry !!! When I hear their music from these albums I can't help but sing along. So everybody crank up the volume and lets rock out with "Rock of Ages" playing on the sidebar !!!

Had a little boys night out last night. We went to go see Allele play who are one of my favorite bands and it was fucking awesome. I had a great time. I heard alot of new music from local artist ( Melovine, A New Revolution, and Dine Alone ). Allele totally kicked some major ass. The venue was small so we had an upclose and personal view of all the acts. It was great, eventhough they were short one guitarist they still sounded awesome.

So since I didn't get in until really late last night today I am going to sit back, relax, and recover!
