A Racey Time
Last night EB and I went out for the first time in a while do to our jobs being a little bit crazy as of late. We had a blast and I was able to do something that I have never done. We went to the dog track and bet on the dogs. I have been to horse track before but I have never been to see the dogs race.
It was an absofuckinglutely wonderful time.

If you have done this before then you will know what I am talking about. The whole atmosphere of betting and watching the dogs chase the rabbit around the track just made for a really fun time.

Not to be a downer, but it's pretty sad what happens to those dogs when racing days are over or if they don't make the cut.
It used to be a weekend pastime when I was a kid, I'd tag along to watch, and (back then) was awed at the speed.

I haven't been to a dog race but the first job I had was at 13 riding the school bus to a guys place to mix horse meat and dog food to feed to his racing greyhounds. Then clean up the sand lot I let them out run in with a square nose shovel.

I have to say, I can't stand dog racing. I just personally don't like it. But horse racing... now were talking. Some of my best afternoons have been spent at a horse track. I'm a dollar person though, gambling is not my thing either!
