What a Surprise!

I was so surprised Wednesday night. I wasn't surprised that I was going to the concert so much but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it! BUT before I talk about it I must say this: DAMN YOU EB , DAMN YOU TO HELL !!! *winks at EB* I say this because she posted some YouTube videos of one of my secret musical addictions. I must have listened to those videos about a dozen times each. Yes it is Eva Cassidy!! Click here and give them a listen!! Let me tell you there is just something about her voice and her music that just does something to me on the inside. Well 2 of those videos are my top favorite songs by Eva, my other favorite being Songbird.

OK enough about the emotional Slider!!! I went to the INXS/Scott Stapp concert the other day. I am not a big fan of their music but I have to say this I really enjoyed myself, hell I was in the 7th row! Scott Stapp did some old Creed music and a little of his new stuff and he really sounded pretty good! I did not care for all the preaching he did after his 2nd song but all in all I enjoyed his performance!!

As for INXS, I was never really a big fan and I never watched that TV show where they were looking for their new lead singer! Yeah I know the guy's name is JD. How could I forget now, I had 4 little girls screaming "I LOVE YOU JD" sitting right behind me through the whole show.

ANYWAYS, I really loved their show. They came out playing "Suicide Blonde" and ended the show with "Don't Change". Both songs sounded fucking awesome and every song in between them sounded just as good!! I would definitely recommend that if any of you get the chance to see INXS in concert go ahead and do it! You will not be disappointed! You can argue all you want but JD sounds just as good as Michael on the older INXS songs. So here is a video of my favorite song from the concert performed by the original line-up!!

I hope you all have a wonderful Fourth of July weekend!!! I know Slider will, I am off for 5 days without taking any vacation time!!

HNT 9

OK folks here is a quicky HNT that I had to pull from the archives due to a my buddy needing me to go to a concert (Scott Stapp/INXS) with him tonight. Yeah it was the last minute but it is one of those things! If a friend needs me for something then I am there!

Just click on the scratch marks that EB left all over my back to see another shot of my ass. (This time with no photoshop or sephia. It's in living color!!)

Mood Music

Sometimes I can't help but feel this way but I am sure it will pass eventually! So here is a song by Crossfade called "Dead Skin". Once again this is not the video for the song. And just remember the alcohol and the demerooooll.........

oh and here are the lyrics

So I'm the king of all these things of this mess I have made
Such a waste what a shame my whole life is a fake
Well I'm a bore and I'm sure I'm a thorn inside of you that has torn at you for years
The alcohol the demerol these things never could replace
What a minute with you could do to put a smile on my face
I'm a bore and I'm sure I'm a thorn inside of you that has torn at me for years
I can't get out of this dead skin
I can't shed my skin
I'm not sure where to begin why can't I begin again
I can't get under my dead skin I can't shed my skin
Can I sleep 'til then

Phenobarbitol and alcohol these two surely will do
To knock me out keep me down at least a day or two
When I'm awake I can taste how bitter I've become
And it's more than I can bear
Somedays I pray someone will blow me away
Make it quick but let it burn so I can feel my life fade
Well I'm a waste and I can taste how bitter I've become
And it's more than I can bear
I can't shed my skin
I can't shed my skin

I Want a New Drug!

What can I say about this past weekend! I had a really good time but if I had to choose a show that I liked the most it would have to be Huey Lewis and the News! Let me tell you this he put on a pretty good show and sounded pretty good!
I didn't think Rob Thomas was all that great. Do not get me wrong he sounded good but there just seemed to be something missing!
As for Jewel *drool*. She sounded great but I will be honest I was running late and only got to see 3 of her songs. But she sounded good and looked really HOT!

Forget Chicago! I used to like alot of their stuff back in the 80's but without Peter Cetera they just do not sound the same! They also performed too much jazzy stuff that I really did not care for! Well it sounded jazzy to me anyways! I will give them this "Saturday in the Park" sounded good and the instrumental part of "25 or 6 to 4" sounded good as well!

All in all I really enjoyed myself this weekend! I loved hearing most of Huey's songs and they really brought back some memories!

Alright now this is for all of you who want a laugh or really like South Park! It is one of my favorite clips!

Oh on another note, this is for EB since Styx isn't coming to town!

I am obsessed

I am obsessed with this song by Stone Sour called "Through Glass"

I love it!!! There is just something about it! I am sure all of you have heard this already but for those of you who have not, here is a video off of YouTube. THIS IS NOT THE VIDEO FOR THE SONG. This is just a video someone has made to the song!

I hope you all enjoyed this song. I will post about how the Rob Thomas/Jewel concert was as well as the Chicageo/Huey Lewis and the News tomorrow!!! I hope you guys are having a wonderful weekend!!!

Lucky Me

Well I am going to make this short and sweet since I have to head off to work in about 5 minutes! EB and I have a good friend who scores us tickets to concerts in the local area. It may be downtown or some venue outside of town! Either way it is pretty cool even though sometimes they are for shows I do not care to see! But then again who really cares it is free and we can go and enjoy ourselves!

Anyways the point is when I get home from work today!! *growls* Yeah I have to work today and I am not happy about it but it is overtime atleast. Oh like I was saying when I get home today we got tickets from our friend to go see the Rob Thomas/Jewel show. Should be interesting!

Tomorrow he got us tickets for the Chicago/Huey Lewis and the News! Now that should really be interesting.

Well that is my weekend activities in a nutshell except for mowing the F-ing lawn and you don't want to hear about that!

Have a fan-fuckin-tastic weekend everyone. Don't forget if someone accidentally slides into your backdoor, greet them with a smile *winks*

Kiss My Ass Mother Nature !

She tried to kill my weekend but no go! It was raining most of Friday night and it kept on going as the concert started on Saturday . But I just pulled my pants down and showed her my ass!! When the first band HURT opened the festival on the side stage in the pouring rain there I was front and center rocking out!

Let me tell you HURT only played for 25 minutes (which is standard for the open acts of the festival) but they put on one hell of a performance!! It was great. Next I walked over to the main stage where Buckcherry was the opening act there. Thank the Lord the main stage is covered so I was briefly out of the rain. I really enjoyed their performance especially "Crazy Bitch". Next I walked back out into the pouring rain to watch Bril. They were good and by now I was so soaked that it didn't matter now if it rained the rest of the day. So piss off Mother Nature, rain all you want!

From there I went back over to the main stage to watch Blue October! They were amazing. This was their first show since the lead singer broke his leg. HE was not ready to come back, it took him forever to get on and off stage plus after his performance I heard they took him to the hospital in an ambulance because he was in such pain. Now let me tell you this THEY WERE THE BEST PERFORMANCE for me at that festival. Although they played the shortest set they sounded fucking awesome. I could only imagine how great they would sound if the lead singer was completely healthy!

I had to leave for part of the show so I ended up missing 3 bands (Huck Johns, Candlebox, & People in Planes) but I atleast I was able to dry off and make it back for Evans Blue. Since I showed Mother Nature my ass which she must have liked because it was no longer raining and it stayed that way for the rest of the evening. F-ing A !!!!!

Trapt and Hinder both kicked some ass and I really enjoyed listening to "Get Stoned" live. The crowd just went insane for that song!

10 Years was the final performance on the side stage and they were awesome! I really liked just about everything they play! Right before them was Shinedown. They sounded awesome in everything that they performed. The one thing that I did not like was that the lead talks way too damn much during their performances. I'd rather see a band come out and rock it . Maybe talk to the crowd a little bit but DAMN he talked way too much. But they sounded really good and I enjoyed their performance!

Hoobastank was pretty good although I really do not listen to them all that much. I give them big props though for letting 3 Days Grace perform a couple of songs during their set !! (I forgot to mention 3 Days Grace couldn't make it to the venue on time due to the weather).

As for Staind, they were just fucking great!!! They did a cover of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" that was just amazing. They performed "Devil" which is my favorite song off of their new album and EB's favorite "Everything Changes". They ended their performance with "Mudshovel"!!!!! This was my second time seeing Staind live and I will go see them over and over again without hesitation.

I do not get home until about 2 am and I was so pumped that I didn't fall asleep until about 4 am. Then I woke up about 8 am and couldn't go back to sleep! OH well and once again it was pouring rain! So now I had to make a big decision about wether or not I was going to go see the country act Rascal Flatts. Well lets put it this was I do not care for their music but it was raining and then there were going to be wet cowgirls there!!! So HELL YEAH I was went and I enjoyed the scenery very much! LOL I also didn't get how until about 1 am that night but you know what I didn't care even though I had to work the next day. It was well worth it and I would do it again *grins*

An 80's boy wet dream concert!!

Yep I am not just a metalhead if you guys have noticed by now! If I enjoy the song I can care less what genre it is!

Anyways I have been thinking alot about music lately if you haven't noticed. This has probably been spawned by the kickass concert series we have going on this summer!! So I was thinking what would be my all time favorite lineup to see in a concert. Then that spawned into what HOT ass metal babes would I love to see in concert from my impressionable and very innocent teenage years *grins*.

Only one lady and one band come to mind! Lita Ford is the probably the all around greatest metal chick!!! She is beautiful and she can rip it up on the guitar!! Vixen is the band that I am talking about! They just had some really good music and to tell you the truth 4 hot f-ing woman rocking onstage is good enough for me *grins*

All you guys can admit to it or not but I am not afraid to. A Lita Ford/Vixen concert would have been a totally amazing concert and I would have not hesitated to go see them. SHIT I wouldn't hesitate to go see them now if by some miracle or grace of God that would ever happen!!

So here is a flashback into our past !!!!!!!!!

So there were two of my favorite songs. First was Vixen doing "Love is a Killer" and the second one was Lita Ford doing "Dressed to Kill". Both of them happen to be my favorites by both artists.

OH BTW I never did get a chance to see Lita Ford in concert but I did get to see Vixen *grins* Front row baby!! They were one of the opening acts for Ozzy on the No Rest for the Wicked tour!

I hope you enjoyed your little flashback and remember you never know when someone may slide into your backdoor by accident!

Have a Wonderful Weekend everyone!!!! I know I will the big concert is tomorrow *grins evilly*

Pop Princess's Piss Off

I will never understand the fascination with these women and their fake performances. Don't get me wrong some of their music is catchy but do any of them actually sing it????? I laugh my ass off when I hear about lip syncing and how it is NO big deal nowadays but long ago they persecuted millie vanillie or however you spell. Anyways I digress!!!

So until you little bitches can put on a live performance without a tape recording you will never be true musical artist...the men and women behind the scenes who wrote your music are!!!!

Anyways the reason for my little outburst is that I ran across two amazing vocal performances on YouTube today (Yeah no suprise I was messing around there huh ???). These two women have such amazing voices and their music kicks ass!! Plus I wouldn't kick either of them lovelies out of bed for eating crackers *winks*. The first performance is by Amy Lee doing "Going Under" with Ben Moody and the other by Cristina Scabbia and Lacuna Coil doing "Heaven's a Lie".

Now you can agree or disagree but these two performances are just incredible!!! You won't see any lip syncing in their performances!!! I have seen Evanescence live in the pit and let me tell you she is just as cute in person!!!!!!*cough cough* *grins* Plus her performance was AMAZING!!!!

I haven't see Lacuna Coil yet but I am DYING to see them and hopefully I will get my chance since their new album is out!!!!

My Dirty Little Secret

This weekend has been a YouTube frenzy when I have been on the computer. That site is just frikkin insane when it comes to finding video shit. Anyways onto that little secret about me that many of you didn't know.

BROADWAY MUSICAL THEATER !!!!!

NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! *screams a little boy cowering in the corner*

yep and I will admit, if it wasn't for EB I probably would have never seen a show. But now I have seen about 30 different shows and some of them multiple times!!

I don't know what it is but if the music appeals to me then more than likely I am going to enjoy the show. My very first musical was Phantom of the Opera and now I have seen this show atleast 6-7 times. I even got the chance one time to watch the first act from the side of stage, it was pretty neat!! Sitting here writing this post I can't even recall all the ones that I have seen but I can list a few of my favorites that I would see over and over again!

1) Jekyll and Hyde
2) Les Miserables
3) Rent
4) Jane Eyre
5) Phantom of the Opera
6) Urinetown
7) Into the Woods
8) The Civil War
9) Beauty and the Beast
10) Man of La Mancha

There are so many more but I really cannot think of them right now. So there you have it, my dirty little secret. *winks*

OK so here is my one of my favorite songs from my favorite musical!!! The quality is so so but live this song is just amazing!!!

OK EB stop drooling !!!! *smirks*

Some F-ing hilarious shit!!!!

My freaky other half EB introduced me to this comedian named Stephen Lynch. He is one of the funniest SOB's I have watched in a very long time. He is a singing comedian so listen to the entire video you will NOT be disappointed. So here are some of his videos, I do hope you enjoy them. Maybe they can even make a bad day a little brighter for you or just make you roll on the ground laughing!

Hope you guys really enjoyed these this guy is just way too funny!!!
See I did give you credit *winks at EB*

Have a wonderful weekend!!! You may never know when you'll want slider to come in your backdoor *winks*

Music Obsession Part 10

I was listening to the radio on the way home from a crap day at work again when I heard this band! This is another band that has been around for awhile and I realized that I really like alot of there music so I wanted to do an obsession post about them. The band that I am talking about is The Offspring. I am just down right addicted to some of their songs. You can find their web page here and their myspace page here if you want to hear some of their music!

They have many albums but I am showing the greatest hits cover because it is a fucking awesome compilation of their music!!
Below is the video for "Gone Away". I chose this one because to me this is an awesome song. It is a very powerful song both emotionally and musically but I will let you decide that on your own. :))

My Encounter with Satan

SO there I am pulling into my driveway after a pain in the ass day at work. I open the garage door and I cruise on into the house and greet the 95 lb puppy. Lars immediately starts spazzing like he usually does. I swear my dog must have a few screws loose but hey ya gotta love the sweet puppy. I look up at the clock and see it is 6 pm. I've gone all day without the end of the world happening (though the cheesy Satan's chat on a local radio station made me want to shoot myself) so I mumble to myself about getting my lazy ass up on the treadmill it is Tuesday after all.

Anyways I let the boy in from playing outside and I change into my workout clothes. I screw around a bit watching TV and checking out the internet then realize its 7 pm. GOD DAMN IT!! "Move your ass" I say to myself and I walk into our pantry and I grab a treat for the puppy and as I am leaving I hear a thud and a crack. Well I figured it was a can of soup so I will pick it up when I make dinner after I work out.

After an hour on the treadmill I take my shower and head back downstairs to make some dinner. Once again I get greeted by a spazzing puppy who hasn't seen me in over a week!! Actually it was only a little over an hour. Like I said he has a few screws loose. Anyways I head on into the pantry to get some rice for dinner and I look down.......

aaawww MOTHER FUCKER!!!! There was Satan laughing at me!!!! What fell earlier was a jar of molasses and it had leaked out of the jar all over the floor. This crap has been sitting out for over an hour now. This shit is thick and sticky to begin with!!!!! I spent the next 45 minutes cleaning up this frikkin mess!!!

SO SCREW YOU SATAN SCREW YOU RIGHT IN THE ASS!!!! That shit was the biggest pain in ass crap that I ever had to clean up off of a floor!!

I Can't Wait

Going to the NIN concert last night has got me iching really bad to go to some more concerts!!!

Bow down to NIN!!

Last night was the NIN concert and it was FUCKING awesome. If any of you ever get a chance to go see them live I promise you will not be disappointed!!

I didn't get their early enough to see TV on the Radio so I do not know how they sound live!

BUT let me tell you this Bauhaus frikkin kicks major ass live. I watched people who didn't know who the heck they were dancing and jamming to Bauhaus. They were just awesome.

As for NIN, well it was the best concert I have seen in years. The only regret I had from the show was that I wasn't tripping on acid cause their light show was fucking spectacular!!! They sounded totally awesome and put on one hell of a show last night. Their entire set was just packed full of great music and when they played the song "Hurt"......well that just blew me away it was just that frikkin good!!!

All in all it was an awesome night! EB and I had a great time!!! GO SEE THE NIN/BAUHAUS TOUR IT IS WORTH THE MONEY!!!!!!!
